Celebrating Australian Made Week 2025: Why Local Matters More Than Ever for Hotels

Australians have always held a deep appreciation for locally made products. But in recent years, this love for homegrown goods has surged, reshaping how hotels across the country approach everything from bathroom amenities to in-room offerings. As we move through 2025, well beyond the pandemic years, this movement shows no signs of slowing. We’ve identified the shift toward Australian-made and designed products as one of the top trends for hoteliers to watch in 2025. The desire to support local producers has become a defining value for both consumers and businesses alike.

Recent insights from Roy Morgan continue to support this trend, with 91% of Australians stating they want to see more Australian-made products and that 77% of Australians are willing to pay more for such products. Not only are international tourists seeking authentic local experiences, but hotels also have a golden opportunity to embrace the domestic traveller as well, as the cost of living continues to rise and guests are choosing local travel instead of expensive overseas trips. Travellers now pay close attention to the origins of the products they encounter - over the years, we've uncovered countless ways to enhance the guest experience by integrating luxurious, locally made elements that guests remember

Here’s some of the incredible Australian brands that Swisstrade partners with:

Jemmervale

Paul, an occupational therapist, and Jannah, a music teacher, never expected their lives to take a creative turn. What began as plans for a simple cubby house soon evolved into a handcrafted backyard cottage, igniting their shared passion for design and craftsmanship. Encouraged by friends and family, they launched Jemmervale Designs, named after Jannah’s family farm in regional Victoria. Over the past seven years, they’ve grown into a boutique furniture and décor business, proudly creating high-quality Australian-made pieces shipped worldwide. Operating from the historic Power House at the old Radio Australia site in Shepparton, they grew the business via e-commerce and wholesale, now supplying luxury products to the hospitality industry. They enjoy every aspect of the handcrafting process; brainstorming and designing, crafting and shipping, and most importantly, making pieces that customers will cherish for many years to come.

ST. ALi

ST. ALi is Australia’s largest, and most recognised independent specialty coffee roaster. Founded in 2005, ST. ALi was (and remains) a pioneer in the specialty coffee space, and a name synonymous with Melbourne’s famous laneway coffee culture. Proudly independent, the journey began from humble beginnings roasting amidst tables on the floor of the original South Melbourne cafe. Fast forward almost 20 years to the global brand that ST. ALi is today operating in 4 different countries, servicing over 1,000+ customers around Australia and the globe, and roasting close to 1.5M tonne of coffee beans annually. ST. ALi is proudly Melbourne born and bred, and driven to share their passion for coffee and hospitality.

ROCC

Health-first, design-led, planet-friendly, and made right here in Australia. ROCC is oral care that’s fresh in every sense of the word. It all started when Melbourne local (and lifelong health lover), Prue Rocchi realised her toothpaste didn’t stack up to the rest of her wellness routine. While she was reading food labels and scanning the backs of her skincare products, toothpaste was stuck in the dark ages, full of nasties, hidden numbers, and landfill-bound packaging that would take hundreds of years to breakdown. So, she created ROCC: toothpaste that’s naturally derived, vitamin-rich, and actually good for you and the planet. No toxins. No compromise. Just a daily ritual you’ll be proud to keep on your sink. Female-founded. Health-driven formulas. Sustainably made.
